Rita Technology Services, a leading IT Search & Consulting firm has an immediate need for a Data Architect to join our client's growing team in Tampa, Florida. This is a contract-to-hire position, candidates must be willing and able to convert to a full-time employee when the contract ends!

The right candidate will have proven leadership skills in large projects delivery with polished, strong communication skills; able to work with business executives, etc.

You will be working on highly visible projects and initiatives in a full AGILE process environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyze user needs and develop systems software solutions for company data to be integrated and retrieved for internal and external use.

Serve as the liaison between data consumers and data solutions development, integration and governance teams.

Understand how data is, or will be, used and implications on people, processes, products and technology.

Define standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, searching and delivering all data within the enterprise.

Enterprise Data Architecture:

Create enterprise data software architectures for large enterprise databases utilizing relational database management systems and Dimensional Data Models for integrated transactional, collaborative, and analytical systems.

Define and implement enterprise data software architecture, balancing business needs and performance requirements with the need for data and systems access while maintaining security.

Create and utilize Dimensional Data Models using datamarts and OLAP cubes.

Use information modeling techniques and perform relational modeling and object modeling.

Develop a metadata management and repository strategy to manage all enterprise information software architecture project artifacts.

Ensure the enterprise information software architecture maps appropriately to all aspects of the overall enterprise architecture, including systems software and infrastructure architecture standards and roadmaps.

Develop a model management strategy in support of enterprise reuse and data-sharing objectives.

Validate data audit objectives and establish data audit plans to ensure continued data integrity and transparency.

Develop, implement and promote architectural standards and frameworks, allowing for a flexible and scalable environment

Define, understand and recommend changes to the existing databases, software, hardware and application environment in tandem with the current business needs and direction

Recommend and evaluate tools and facilities for use by department that may include various areas within the DBMS environment (i.e., design, development, operation)

Educate and train business and systems personnel in data analysis, logical data design, standards and procedures for data, and corporate data dictionary usage.

Research and evaluate new software and hardware to determine effects on existing database designs, procedures and/or software installation.

Solution Design:

Design, develop, and implement data architectures to support application and BI solution/reporting efforts

Design and enhance normalized and dimensional (OLTP and ROLAP) data structures

Design, develop, and support complex integration processes (including interfaces) using SQL Server technology, stored procedures and SQL program code

Will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously and engaged in problem solving on these projects

Work directly with Business Architects to translate business requirements into conceptual and logical data models

Responsible for small to medium system enhancements and/or large scale strategic initiatives as needed

Solution Support:

Perform root cause analysis for issues and provide effective and timely resolution

Provide guidance and technical support to other architecture team members

Provide expertise in trouble-shooting problems, taking appropriate actions to resolve or prevent future problems

Assist in after-hours implementation/production code moves/check outs as necessary

Requirements:

Bachelor in Computer Science, IS or equivalent experience

Experience leading large data warehouse migrations.

7+ years of enterprise-level database experience.

Knowledge of logical and physical data design techniques

Possess a strong background in centralized/decentralized Data Warehousing

ETL and Master Data Management (MDM) experience

Experience with multiple DBMS's including SQL Server, Oracle, DB2

Performance monitoring and tuning experience

Experience with OLAP tools, multi-dimensional databases and data mining

Erwin data modeling experience a plus
