In support of this mission, Marketing is responsible for developing integrated marketing strategies across their business lines and geographies leading brand strategy leveraging deep insights and analytics about consumers and businesses executing customer messaging across all channels and touchpoints and building out capabilities that move toward real-time, always-on, personalized and compelling messaging and digital experiences.

This role is part of the Insights and Analytics Team (I&A), which is a new and exciting team striving to provide best-in class analytic support. Our charter is to provide meaningful insights that inform our business/customer marketing strategies as well as our broader strategic initiatives through growth opportunities.

Within I&A, Marketing Measurement (MM) is a critical function that helps us measure, optimize and predict the impacts of our Marketing investments. As part of MM, Targeting Modeling aims to match each customer to the right message and offer, with the goal of increasing customer centricity and the ROI of our list-based marketing investments. The role involves not only managing a successful team of modelers and portfolio of models, but also effectively engaging multidisciplinary stakeholders across the bank, including Corporate Model Risk Management (CMoR), as well as Legal, Risk and Compliance (LRC) teams.

The ideal candidate has an extensive background in customer level logistic models, statistical procedures, optimization methods, and designs of experiments. A blend of strong data, analytical and written as well as oral communication skills will be needed to navigate conflicting and complex business realities. Experience managing large teams of modelers, coaching, motivating and developing analytical talent into well-rounded, business-savvy partners will also be keys to success.

This position will be located ideally in San Francisco, CA or Charlotte, NC, but there is a degree of geographic flexibility for the right candidate.

Specifically, this leader will be responsible for -

•Managing a team of targeting modelers, including staffing, talent management and work prioritization

•Leading and developing strategy and roadmap of Targeting Modeling for the Enterprise in partnership with OC Marketing and Lines of Business (LoB)

•Providing thought leadership and innovation around targeting model development approaches and leading techniques to drive the best predictive business outcomes

•Designing and proposing opportunities for productivity improvements, from automation to offshoring solutions

•Being a strategy, thought leader and proactive consultant with OC Marketing and business partners for all LoBs

•Working across the Enterprise to develop partnerships with other modeling teams to identify joint opportunities and synergies

•Applying model performance evaluation and assessment processes to determine model retirement or redevelopment needs

•Partnering to provide the information to ensure new models are certified and approved by LRC and CMoR

•Work closely with CMoR on quarterly and annual validations, as well as annual risk rank assessments of production models

•Working to drive operational excellence across the team’s work processes

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. 8+ years of experience in analytics, modeling, or a combination of both

2. 6+ years of management experience or 6+ years of leadership experience in an advanced quantitative analytics function

3. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

4. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

5. 7+ years of experience managing modeling teams

6. Experience in customer level campaign research and execution, including measurement and financials

7. Strong background on logistic propensity modeling applied to customer level data

8. Multiple years of experience working on varied facets of direct to consumer marketing such as direct mail, email, and store

9. Familiarity with Wells Fargo businesses and processes

10. Consultative experience with ability to understand the presenting problems, solution design, gain buy-in and consensus on approach, gather necessary resources to complete the assignment and communicate results in a timely way to our partners and peer groups

11. Demonstrated experience completing complex analysis across multiple lines of business

12. Strong problem solving skills with a sense of urgency

13. Able to communicate complex analytic results clearly and concisely

14. Experience working closely with Marketing and other senior leaders across the enterprise

15. Proactively identify business opportunities or efficiency improvements based on internal or external trends

16. Experience with in a matrix organizational structure and with that, the ability to articulate multiple perspectives leading to high levels of collaboration
