Pharmacy Assistant

Typical job responsibilities:

Receive and process prescription orders.

Enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.

Prepare medications for pharmacist verification (packaging and labeling).

Manage medication inventory and order supplies.

Process insurance and third-party billing.

Answer phone calls and assist patients with general inquiries.

Maintain accurate pharmacy records.

Follow pharmacy safety, privacy, and regulatory procedures.

Typical requirements:

High school diploma (post-secondary pharmacy assistant training is an asset).

Experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred.

Good computer and data-entry skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
