Utilities Superintendent

As our Utilities Superintendent, you will command the vital systems that keep our entire site running—from heavy-duty industrial boilers and compressors to the water treatment plant and the mill's critical fire suppression systems. Your Key Objectives as the Utilities Superintendent:
Command the Operation: Steer a specialized 8-person boiler room team, managing performance, shaping talent, and directing recruitment efforts.
Optimize Capital & Processes: Shape long-term improvement strategies and capital upgrade projects to maximize system reliability and cost-efficiency.
Oversee Critical Safety Systems: Manage the mill’s extensive fire, alarm, and emergency lighting infrastructure, directing strict testing schedules and loss-prevention programs.
Own Key Partnerships: Position yourself as the primary enterprise liaison with local utilities for gas, potable water, fire water, and sewer networks.
Partner for Reliability: Collaborate directly with manufacturing and maintenance teams to refine world-class preventative maintenance (PM) programs.
Minimum Qualifications for the Utilities Superintendent:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of leadership in a manufacturing environment, paper manufacturing preferred.
Deep technical mastery of boiler operation codes, compliance standards, and industrial utility infrastructure.
Confident, collaborative communicator with experience managing teams in a unionized environment.
Proficient with CMMS, SAP, and advanced data-driven operations.
