Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator

Location: Columbus, OH 43207

Shift: 1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday

Pay: $18.00/hr

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Warehouse Associate to support various warehouse functions. This role requires individuals who can work on their feet for extended periods and are able to handle physical tasks such as moving materials and operating equipment. No prior experience is necessary, as training will be provided. Forklift experience is helpful.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Tasks:

Move and position boxes of siding and other materials, utilizing dragging techniques as needed (ability to lift up to 70 pounds is required).

Stand for long periods and perform repetitive physical tasks efficiently.

Operate Forklifts and Pallet Jacks

Pull inventory based on orders and place it on designated skids.

Properly assemble wooden pallets for shipping to customers.

Unload trucks and store materials in appropriate locations.

Identify and scan materials for inventory management, ensuring correct unitization on skids.

Inspect products for quality before shipping or receiving.

Equipment Operation:

Safely operate forklifts as per safety guidelines.

Load inventory onto trucks and facilitate movement between buildings.

Inventory Control:

Assist in inventory control through cycle counts and rechecks.

Ensure all finished goods are accurately scanned to their respective locations.

Safety and Communication:

Promote and adhere to 6S practices and safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding warehouse activities and inventory status.

Inspect and identify good and bad racks to maintain a safe working environment.

Support Functions:

Assist with packing and support production areas as needed.

Participate in housekeeping policies and procedures to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications

Forklift highly preferred; willingness to learn is essential.

Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and moving materials.

Basic understanding of safety practices and willingness to adhere to safety regulations.

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
