About the Role
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will help manage purchasing activities, monitor inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure food, beverages, and restaurant supplies are available to support daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with purchasing food, beverages, kitchen equipment, and restaurant supplies.
Prepare and process purchase orders accurately.
Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, deliveries, and product availability.
Monitor inventory levels and support stock replenishment.
Receive deliveries and verify orders against purchase orders and invoices.
Maintain purchasing records and inventory reports.
Coordinate with kitchen and restaurant teams to forecast supply needs.
Support cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma; a diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality, or a related field is an asset.
1+ year of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or administrative support, preferably in hospitality or food service.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Experience with restaurant inventory or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Knowledge of food purchasing and inventory control procedures.
Bilingual English and French communication skills.
