Description:

CNC Programmer

Prairie du Sac, WI

Direct Hire 2nd Shift

Starting Pay: $46.36/hour+ (Higher pay considered based on experience)

If you're an experienced CNC Programmer who enjoys improving machining processes and working on complex precision parts, this is an opportunity to join an established manufacturing team with long-term stability. You'll have the chance to program, troubleshoot, optimize, and support production while working closely with machinists and manufacturing personnel.

What You'll Be Doing

Create and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, machine controllers, and code editors.

Develop machining strategies, select tooling, and recommend fixtures to improve quality and efficiency.

Troubleshoot and optimize existing programs to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.

Perform program prove-outs, assist with machine setup, and verify first-piece quality.

Read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and inspect precision-machined parts using measuring equipment.

Maintain programming documentation and support continuous process improvements.

Help train and mentor setup personnel when needed.

What You Need to Be Considered

At least 1 year of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment (more experience preferred).

Experience creating or modifying CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.

Strong blueprint reading skills with a solid understanding of GD&T.

Ability to perform machining calculations including speeds, feeds, angles, and tool paths.

Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and height gauges.

Ability to inspect tight-tolerance machined parts.

High school diploma or GED required. Technical school or an associate degree in machining/CNC technology is a plus.

Experience with CMM inspection is a plus but not required.

Why Candidates Like This Opportunity

Direct hire with a stable, established manufacturer.

Competitive starting wage with room for higher pay based on experience.

Opportunity to work on a variety of machining projects instead of repetitive programming.

Collaborative environment where programmers are involved in process improvements, tooling decisions, and production support.

Long-term career growth for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Pre-employment requirements include a background check, drug screen, physical, and other standard employment screenings.
