We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle SQL Data Analyst to develop, maintain, and support SQL solutions for operational reporting, research, executive decision-making, and strategic initiatives. In this role, you will primarily work with large, normalized Oracle transactional databases.
This is not a traditional Business Intelligence or Dashboard Development position. Approximately 70–80% of the day-to-day work involves writing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL directly against transactional databases from scratch. The ideal candidate will have strong independent analytical skills, capable of determining appropriate database tables, relationships, and business rules without relying on pre-built analytical tables, semantic models, visual query builders, or AI-generated SQL.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
• Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases.
• Analyze business requirements and determine the appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules needed to answer complex business questions.
• Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, and executive requests.
• Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, scheduled database jobs, and recurring data refreshes.
• Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
• Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code.
• Support recurring operational reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and research initiatives.
• Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and communicate analytical findings.
• Provide secondary support for Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.
Important Interview & Onboarding Details
• Interview Process: In-Person Interviews Only.
• Onboarding: Candidates MUST be available to come on-site for Day 1 orientation and to pick up equipment. (Equipment will not be shipped).
