We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Programmer to join our team and play a critical role in transforming field measurements into production-ready programs for our CNC machinery.
Position Summary
The CAD Programmer is responsible for converting digital field measurements into accurate shop drawings and CNC programs that ensure flawless fabrication. This role works closely with templaters, project managers, production, and installation teams to ensure every project is programmed correctly, efficiently, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and enjoys solving complex design and fabrication challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Create production-ready CAD drawings from digital field templates.
Program CNC saws, and waterjet equipment using industry-specific software.
Verify dimensions, seam locations, edge profiles, sink placements, faucet holes, and cutouts.
Optimize slab layouts to maximize material yield while maintaining aesthetics, including book matching and vein alignment.
Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and customer approvals before releasing jobs to production.
Identify potential fabrication or installation issues before production begins.
Generate shop drawings, cut tickets, labels, and production documentation.
Collaborate with Project Managers regarding design changes, missing information, or scheduling priorities.
Coordinate with production to resolve programming questions and improve manufacturing efficiency.
Maintain digital project files and revision control.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase programming accuracy and reduce waste.
Qualifications
Required
Experience using AutoCAD, AlphaCAM or comparable CAD software.
Strong understanding of drafting principles and dimensional accuracy.
Ability to read architectural and construction drawings.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital file management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
Experience in the stone, countertop, cabinetry, millwork, or CNC manufacturing industry.
Experience with AlphaCAM, Fusion, Park Industries, BACA Systems, LT-55, or similar CAD/CAM software.
Understanding of natural stone, quartz, porcelain, and sintered stone fabrication.
Knowledge of CNC routing, saw programming, and fabrication workflows.
Experience with laser or digital templating systems.
Salary
This is an hourly role, with a pay range of $28 - $38 ($58,240 - $79,040 annually) an hour, depending on industry knowledge and experience.
