Grain Handler
Employment Basis: Full-Time
Salary: $90,000
Specific Task
• Operate specialize Kotzur bulk grain handling circuit to use for the receival, storage, transfer, packing, and dispatch of grain products.
• Conduct detailed inspection of equipment, check and record any faults and rectified before operation (refer to maintenance schedule procedure).
• Reference should be given to risk assessment of bucket elevator operation. Paying particular attention to that all safety guards and equipment are installed (refer to risk assessment).
• Before putting drag conveyor into operation, ensure foreign material is removed from drag conveyor.
• Ensure close all boots and inspection panels and ensure drive guards are in place.
• Start conveyor motor and listen carefully if any abnormal noises before operation.
• Conveyors should not be operated unless they are completely enclosed, and power transmission guards are in place.
• Follow inspections schedule to ensure the equipment is in good operating condition.
• Inspect chain, paddles, transmission v-belts.
• Check chain tension, gearbox, bearing, all sheave drive and attaching parts, check all hardware, and check chain carrier tracks.
• As per WHS requirements tests E-stops, control panels (refer to risk assessment operation).
• Once bulk grain handling circuit is safe to operate, proceed to the test running the circuit with no grain.
• Proceed to control room and test container inverter weight scales are reading correctly.
• Carry out visual inspection of individual weight scales, frames, wiring are safe to operate.
• Ensure twist locks on both inverter 1 and 2 are operating correctly.
• Inspect and grease cylinders, pivot points and check safety guards are operating correctly.
• Ensure area is clear of any obstacles (shovels, brooms, grains, water, etc) to move any trip hazard while loading.
• Check fumigation clearance has been approved, and the area is safe.
• Coordinate with export team members to ensure packing can commence.
General Task
• Clean, repair as required and inspect containers to meet the standards of food quality of Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry.
• Report of any major faults of containers to site manager, so replace container can be organised.
• Record individually containers specifications when received.
• Follow site safety procedures and permit system.
• Perform routine inspections of plant equipment and report faults, breakdowns, or maintenance requirements.
Requirement:
• At least 12 months experience with DND Container Inverters
• And 12 months experience with Grainline Bunker Stackers.
• 12 Months experience with KPC Bulk Train Loader
