Afterschool Robotics Instructor

Program: After-school Robotics Enrichment (Grades K–2)

Position Type: Part-Time

Compensation: $55–$65 per session

About the Role

We are looking for a fun, patient, and energetic instructor to lead a LEGO Robotics enrichment program for early elementary students. This role focuses on introducing young learners (K–2) to foundational STEM concepts through playful building, storytelling, and beginner-friendly robotics activities.

Students will explore simple engineering ideas by building with LEGO kits, experimenting with movement and basic mechanical concepts, and learning how to bring their ideas to life through guided, hands-on challenges.

Responsibilities

Deliver prepared afterschool lesson plans in an engaging way

Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies

Assist students as they build and experiment with designs

Set up and clean up materials before and after each session

Communicate with program staff and follow school site guidelines

Ensure students remain safe, engaged, and supported throughout activities

Qualifications

Background in education, STEM, engineering, or youth programs

Experience with LEGO robotics, maker kits, or early STEM education

Familiarity with hands-on or play-based learning environments

Required

Experience working with young children (K–2 preferred)

Ability to lead structured but playful learning activities

Strong communication and classroom management skills

Dependable, patient, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
