Project Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Project Engineer to support the setup, commissioning, and operational running of a new manufacturing plant. This role is designed for a high potential individual who will be groomed to progress into a Plant Manager position. The ideal candidate is hands on, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the setup, installation, and commissioning of plant machinery and equipment.

Support engineering projects related to production, maintenance, and process optimisation.

Work closely with senior management to develop plant operating procedures and workflows.

Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and technical teams during plant setup.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in production planning, quality checks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and progress updates.

Provide hands on support across mechanical, electrical, and process engineering tasks.

Develop leadership capability with the aim of transitioning into a Plant Manager role.

Key Skills:

1 3 years' experience in manufacturing, production, engineering projects, or industrial operations.

Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems, plant equipment, and maintenance principles.

Exposure to commissioning, installation, or project engineering is an added advantage.

Ability to work independently and take initiative in a technical environment.

Strong analytical, problem solving, and organisational skills.

Willingness to grow into a senior operational leadership role.

Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
