Dentist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a licensed Dentist to provide high-quality dental care to inmates in a correctional facility. The Dentist will work under the supervision of the Supervising Dentist or designee and lead the Dental Assistant. Services must prioritize patient healthcare and be performed based on dental necessity, addressing conditions that protect life, prevent significant illness or disability, or alleviate severe pain.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 24 months of continuous experience in a similar setting within the last 30 months. Breaks between employments cannot exceed 4 weeks.

- Required professional licenses and certifications (see below).

- Proficient in English, both written and oral.

- Ability to deliver patient-cantered care in a correctional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide essential dental services and surgical procedures based on severity and patient need.

- Lead and supervise Dental Assistants in clinical procedures.

- Communicate effectively with Correctional Facility staff and maintain accurate documentation.

- Schedule and deliver dental services timely unless unavoidable circumstances occur.

- Defer non-essential services until patient release when appropriate.
