Automation Engineering Technician
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Technician to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves performing calibration, commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting of instruments, process control systems, and equipment. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements by applying knowledge in automation and measurement technology.
Responsibilities
Perform calibrations of inspection, measurement, and test equipment according to detailed calibration work instructions.
Record results in the Computerized Maintenance Management or Calibration Data Management System.
Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions such as adjustments or component replacements.
Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to ensure reliable performance.
Monitor PLC or HMI program logic during certifications or troubleshooting to understand deviations from proper operation.
Use and maintain primary, secondary, and/or working calibration standards.
Complete work order documentation accurately and completely.
Identify and recommend solutions for waste and workflow interrupters, and assist with their implementation.
Actively participate in development opportunities to improve overall team performance.
Work efficiently to increase the quantity of activities completed.
Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key partners.
Essential Skills
Experience with calibrations including pressure transmitters, airflow measurement, temperature, pressure, and speed/process parameters.
PLC troubleshooting experience.
Troubleshooting and electrical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
Familiarity with calibration and maintenance management systems.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E (electrical safety standards for workplaces).
Work Environment
The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility with a mix of office space, labs, and manufacturing areas. The position offers flexibility around hours, with core shifts being Sunday-Thursday (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) or Monday-Friday (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM). A minimum of 40 hours per week is expected. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
