Data Engineer
Float Financial is a leading Canadian fintech company helping businesses simplify spending, expense management, and financial operations through innovative technology. We're looking for a talented Data Engineer to build scalable data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and business insights across our platform.
About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain reliable data infrastructure that supports our financial technology products. You'll work closely with software engineers, data analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, high-quality data solutions that drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
Build and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and data models.
Integrate data from internal systems and third-party financial platforms.
Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and reliability across data platforms.
Develop batch and real-time data processing solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and trusted datasets.
Optimize database performance and large-scale data processing.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data pipelines and workflows.
Support reporting, business intelligence, machine learning, and financial analytics initiatives.
Maintain data governance, documentation, and compliance with security and privacy standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering.
Experience building scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.
Strong SQL skills and database design knowledge.
Knowledge of distributed data processing and modern data architectures.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
