Summary

Smart Hill Construction Pty Ltd, trading as Reso Scaffold, is a growing construction company specialising in residential, commercial and industrial building projects. As the business continues to expand its design-and-construct capability, the company requires an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to prepare detailed architectural documentation, support project planning and coordinate technical drawings throughout the construction process.

Our Architectural Draftsperson will be responsible for preparing architectural drawings and construction documentation, interpreting design concepts, coordinating technical information and supporting the delivery of residential and commercial construction projects. The position provides specialised drafting support across the business and contributes to efficient project delivery, design coordination and regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design Documentation and Drafting

• Prepare architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections and detailed construction documentation using CAD, Revit and BIM software

• Translate architectural concepts, sketches and design specifications into accurate technical drawings for construction purposes

• Revise and update drawings to reflect design changes, engineering requirements and client variations throughout project deliver

Project Documentation and Coordination

• Prepare documentation required for planning approvals, building permits and construction documentation packages

• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, civil, mechanical and other consultant documentation to minimise design conflicts

• Maintain project drawing registers, revision histories and document control throughout each stage of construction

Technical Design Support

• Interpret building codes, Australian Standards and planning requirements when preparing architectural documentation

• Assist with material selections, construction detailing and specification preparation to support project outcomes

• Produce 3D models, presentation drawings and visual representations where required to assist project coordination and client communication

Stakeholder Liaison

• Liaise with Architects, engineers, project managers, consultants and clients to clarify design requirements and technical information

• Coordinate drawing revisions and technical documentation arising from project meetings and consultant feedback

• Support communication between design and construction teams to facilitate efficient project delivery

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with project specifications and applicable regulations

• Maintain drawing standards, templates and documentation procedures in accordance with company quality systems

• Assist in resolving design documentation issues during construction and support continuous improvement of drafting processes

Assessment Criteria

• A relevant qualification in Architectural Drafting, Building Design, Architectural Technology, Architectural Interior Design or a closely related discipline, or relevant industry experience

• At least three years of relevant experience preparing architectural drawings and construction documentation for residential and/or commercial building projects

• Demonstrated proficiency using computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit or other comparable CAD/BIM platforms

• Experience preparing and revising floor plans, elevations, sections, construction details and other technical documentation

• Ability to interpret architectural concepts, engineering drawings and technical specifications and translate them into accurate construction documentation

• Ability to communicate and coordinate drawings with architects, engineers, consultants and construction personnel throughout project delivery

• Understanding of construction methods, building materials and document control procedures

• Experience managing drawing revisions, version control and project documentation

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and high-quality technical drawings

• Well-developed communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with all levels of stakeholders
