Infection Control Unit Manager (RN/LPN)
Northridge Health and Rehab is seeking a Unit Manager (RN or LPN) with strong clinical leadership skills and a passion for quality resident care. This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role in a supportive, team-focused skilled nursing environment.
Job Summary
The Unit Manager oversees daily nursing operations on the unit, providing leadership, supervision, and clinical guidance to nursing staff. This role works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and positive resident and family experiences.
This position also includes a strong wound care focus, supporting residents with complex wound care needs and ensuring best-practice treatment plans.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily nursing care on assigned unit
Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)
Conduct clinical rounds and monitor resident care plans
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
Assist with care planning and interdisciplinary communication
Provide leadership coverage in absence of Director of Nursing
Minimal on call rotation- More details provided during interview
Infection Control Responsibilities
Conduct infection surveillance and staff training
Investigate exposure incidents and implement follow-up actions
Ensure compliance with all infection prevention protocols
Lead policy updates and coordinate with local health authorities as needed
Educate residents, families, and staff on prevention and care
Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams
Qualifications
Active RN or LPN license in good standing
Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
Infection Prevention experience strongly preferred
Infection Prevention certification or willing to obtain
Leadership or supervisory experience a plus
Strong communication, organization, and clinical assessment skills
