BLUFIN SUSHI BAR LLC is looking for a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team in Grosse Pointe, MI! Responsibilities:
Prepare and present high-quality sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty rolls with consistency and artistry
Source, inspect, and handle fresh fish and seafood following strict food safety standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sushi station throughout service
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, timely service during peak hours
Develop and contribute to new menu items and seasonal specials
Monitor inventory, minimize waste, and assist with ordering fresh ingredients as needed
Uphold all health, sanitation, and food handling regulations at all times
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook in a professional kitchen setting
Proficiency in traditional Japanese knife skills and sushi rice preparation
Strong knowledge of fish butchery, seafood selection, and freshness standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Food handler certification or ServSafe certification preferred
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to presentation and quality
Reliable, team-oriented, and passionate about Japanese culinary arts
