Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a friendly, trustworthy, and detail-oriented Cashier & Customer Service Representative to join our gold jewelry store. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, accurately process sales transactions, and assist customers with selecting gold jewelry and answering product inquiries. Since this position involves handling valuable merchandise and cash, honesty, professionalism, and accuracy are essential.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers with a warm, professional attitude.

Process cash, credit/debit card, financing, and digital payment transactions accurately.

Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, and store credits according to company policies.

Assist customers in selecting gold jewelry and explain product features, pricing, and promotions.

Weigh, package, and present jewelry professionally.

Maintain an organized, clean, and secure sales floor and cashier area.

Balance the cash drawer and reconcile transactions at the beginning and end of each shift.

Verify pricing and inventory during sales transactions.

Answer customer questions in person, by phone, and through online inquiries.

Help prevent loss by following security procedures for handling jewelry and cash.

Support inventory counts, merchandise displays, and store opening/closing duties.

Build positive customer relationships to encourage repeat business.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous cashier, retail, jewelry, or customer service experience preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong math skills and attention to detail.

Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer applications.

Honest, dependable, and able to handle confidential financial information.

Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Skills

Experience working in a jewelry, luxury retail, pawn, or gold shop.

Sales experience with upselling and cross-selling.

Knowledge of gold jewelry, gemstones, or precious metals is an advantage but training will be provided.

Multilingual skills are a plus.
