About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations in a high-volume food and beverage manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, employee development, and continuous improvement while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the facility.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and develop the maintenance team to ensure reliable operation of plant equipment and facility systems
Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and extend asset life
Ensure maintenance activities are properly planned and scheduled using the CMMS to maximize labor efficiency and equipment availability
Monitor equipment performance and implement strategies to improve uptime, productivity, and maintenance effectiveness
Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency maintenance issues and critical equipment failures
Partner with Engineering and Operations to identify equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects
Evaluate new equipment proposals and provide recommendations based on cost, reliability, and operational impact
Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies to support efficient plant operations while controlling costs
Develop and monitor maintenance budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support capital planning initiatives
Establish maintenance procedures, best practices, and performance standards that support world-class maintenance operations
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, food safety standards, GMPs, environmental requirements, and company policies
Lead hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and employee development while fostering a strong safety and continuous improvement culture
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and maintenance leadership experience
5+ years of maintenance, mechanical engineering, or industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
Previous leadership or management experience leading maintenance teams
Food and beverage manufacturing experience preferred; dairy manufacturing experience is a plus
Experience developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Knowledge of CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and maintenance best practices
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, utilities, and facility systems
Experience managing maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and capital improvement projects
Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Technical certifications in electrical, welding, refrigeration, boilers, wastewater, plumbing, or related trades are a plus
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
