Description:
***Remote
We are seeking a self-directed and adaptable Business Process & Governance Engineer to join a growing governance team on a contract basis. In this role, you will partner across enterprise business units, IT, privacy, and security to build and strengthen capabilities across multiple programs, including Data Governance, Information Governance, and AI Governance.
Because our initiatives sit at various stages of maturity—some well-established, others being built entirely from the ground up—you will have the unique opportunity to both optimize existing structures and shape entirely new frameworks. This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves comfortably between shifting priorities, and can translate high-level compliance or regulatory concepts into practical, everyday tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Process & Workflow Design: Create and implement governance processes, documentation, and workflows tailored to varying program maturity levels.
• Framework Development: Translate complex business, regulatory, or policy requirements into clear, practical frameworks, guides, and stakeholder tools.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with both technical teams and executive leadership to advocate for governance standards and drive adoption.
• Autonomy & Problem Solving: Proactively identify governance gaps, propose actionable solutions, and execute them without waiting for a predefined playbook.
• Shifting Priority Alignment: Seamlessly flex across different programs as enterprise needs evolve, applying a core analytical skill set to new challenges.
Candidate Qualifications
• Experience: 5–8 years of professional experience in business process engineering, governance, compliance, IT business analysis, or a closely related field.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, though equivalent professional experience will be fully considered in lieu of a degree.
• Environment Experience: Experience working within a complex, decentralized institutional or enterprise environment is highly desirable.
• Domain Exposure: Prior exposure to risk-related, compliance, or governance work (specifically handling data, information security, or emerging AI) is a plus.
Core Competencies for Success
• Ambiguity to Structure: You don't wait for a playbook; you are comfortable establishing order where it doesn't yet exist.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to adapt complex, technical, or regulatory messaging for both technical staff and executive stakeholders.
• Results-Oriented: A self-starter mindset with strong analytical and process design capabilities.
Position Details
• Engagement Type: Contract
• Work Arrangement: Remote (with expected alignment to standard business hours)
• Schedule: Full-time, 8 hours per day / 5 days per week
• Interview Process: Web Camera Interview Only
