Billing Specialist

Job Description

Position Summary: The Billing & E-Filing Clerk is responsible for saving Electronic Filings and creating draft billing entries for timekeeper review in a timely and accurate manner. This position works closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and paralegals to ensure accurate pleading files and assist in prompt prebill generation through timely draft billing entries. The Billing & E-Filing Clerk is further responsible for providing certain clerical support to the Billing Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Electronic Filings

· Save to the Case Management System all Electronic Filings that are submitted via the E-Service platform.

· Draft proposed billing entries for all Electronic Filings for timekeepers to review, edit as needed, and approve.

· To perform these tasks promptly to ensure that prebills may be issued by the second business day of the month (or other deadline as designated by the Partners, Managing Partner, People & Operations Manager, or Lead Paralegal).

Billing Team Support

· As needed, assist with write-off and invoice adjustments.

· As needed, assist the Billing Team with revisions to pre-bills.

· As needed, assist with cost invoicing, advanced costs, and client costs.

· Assist with Accounts REceivalbe

· Provide general team support upon request.

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the People and Operations Manager and Lead Paralegal and works closely with all attorneys, paralegals, and support staff within the firm.Company Description
