Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a Mid level AWS Developer for a federal government engagement. Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud applications and services in an AWS environment, with a focus on delivering reliable solutions that meet federal performance, security, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable cloud-native applications and services within an AWS environment
Build and deploy APIs, microservices, and serverless solutions to support mission-critical federal government initiatives
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability
Monitor application performance and system health using AWS monitoring and logging tools, ensuring availability and operational excellence
Apply AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, logging, and least-privilege access controls to meet federal security requirements
Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance cloud applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
Support cloud modernization efforts by leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, and CloudWatch
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate processes and improve development workflows
Ensure solutions align with federal compliance, security, and operational standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 8 years of experience
5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in AWS
Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and API Gateway
Proficiency in one or more modern languages: Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automation
Experience with security best practices, including least-privilege access, encryption, logging, and monitoring
Familiarity with federal government environments and secure delivery expectations
Ability to work in an agile team and collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders
