Engineering Assistant Manager -New Business Motherson Yachiyo AY Manufacturing Ltd., a Tier 1 assembler of Sunroofs for the automotive industry, is searching for an Engineering Assistant Manager -New Business, at our Westside Columbus Ohio facility.This role will drive and oversee initiatives aimed at enhancing the company's operational performance to support the achievement of strategic goals across Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD). Lead new manufacturing projects for new business and target improvements in production processes, component packaging, safety and ergonomics, delivery efficiency, product quality, material flow, and overall plant layout.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Launch new business projects on time and on budget.Develop and support Business Plan for engineering focusing on operational characteristics improvement.Cultivate a plant wide culture of continuous improvement.Develop and execute tactical and strategic plans to meet project deadlines and targets.Lead and mentor a team of engineers to ensure completion of objectives.Prepare reports for various departments, executive management, and other company officials upon request.Support professional growth and development of engineering personnel.Promote cross-departmental collaboration to ensure seamless implementation of new manufacturing technologies and methods.Determine staffing requirements for production based on demand levels and labor analysis.Ensure capacity exists to meet current and future demand levels.Deliver accurate cost evaluations and merit studies for decision-making.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering with proven 5+ years of engineering project management and experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Tier 1 automotiveProven problem solving, decision making, situation analysis, multi-tasking and prioritization skillsStrong background in engineering practices, including process optimization, lean manufacturing, and resource managementProficient in Microsoft Office suiteExperience working in automotive supplier environment, with a deep understanding of customer expectations, quality standards, and production challengesExcellent documentation, hands-on mentality and leadership skillsMust be able to travel, international and domestic, occasionally with minimal noticeLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, PMP (Project Management Professional), or similar certifications are desirableSeniority level Mid-Senior levelEmployment type Full-timeJob function Engineering, Business Development, and ManagementIndustries Motor Vehicle ManufacturingBenefits Medical insuranceVision insurance401(k)Tuition assistanceDisability insurancePaid maternity leave#J-18808-Ljbffr
