Job Summary

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, a community-governed non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential health resources to our community, is seeking a skilled Lead Billing Clerk to join our Patient Accounting team in Springville, NY. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely billing of our patients' accounts. Responsibilities

Examine and bill all accounts receivable primary and secondary claims, including Government, Medicare, Workers Compensation/NoFault, and commercial carriers

Review mail correspondence, denials, and handle phone calls from insurance companies and patients, ensuring timely submission and claim resolution

Assist in the analysis of open claims, verifying timely submission and claim resolution as needed, and prevent lost revenue by timely filing of issues/denials

Transmit all electronic claims and prepare trial balance reports for inpatient, Medicare, Medicaid, and other carriers

Process denials and insurance explanation of benefits

Requirements

3 years of medical billing experience with both professional and institutional claims, spanning all types of carriers

Experience with eClinicalWorks, ClaimMaster, and/or HMS is a plus

High School Diploma or GED
