Job Purpose
The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining accurate digital records of customer accounts, utility billing, invoices, and work orders within Pepco's internal databases. This role ensures data integrity, compliance, and smooth administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
Data Input & Processing: Input customer account details, billing files, utility usage statistics, and daily operational records into the company’s specialized databases (e.g., SAP, CRM systems).
Verification & Quality Control: Cross-check data from source documents against digital entries to identify, correct, and report any errors or discrepancies.
Invoice & Work Order Management: Process and track supplier invoices, technician work orders, and maintenance requests accurately.
Document Management: Maintain, organize, and digitally archive sensitive documents and paperwork in compliance with company security policies.
Report Generation: Compile, sort, and verify data to generate daily, weekly, or monthly operational reports for supervisors and other departments.
Team Collaboration: Assist administrative teams and respond to internal inquiries regarding data and account updates.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or coursework in Business Administration/IT is a plus).
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in data entry, clerical work, or a back-office administrative role.
Typing Speed: Proven typing speed of at least 45–50 WPM with a high level of accuracy.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word) and experience handling database management software.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
