Long Term Substitute Associate Principal For Student And Family Services
Applications for the position of Long Term Substitute Associate Principal for Student and Family Services for Maine South High School are invited. Substitute dates are August 17 through November 11, 2026. Qualified applicants should submit an online application on or before Friday, July 10, 2026. Candidates shall possess a Master's degree or higher and have the required certification at the time of application or present evidence that the certification will be completed on or before July 31, 2026. Such certification must include Principal's license and successful completion of teacher evaluation training. It is expected that the candidate will present a record of successful experiences that indicates potential for outstanding performance in those responsibilities as listed in the current job description of Associate Principal for Student and Family Services as included in District 207 Board of Education policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide high quality leadership to coordinate and improve the support services provided to students and families
Provide building leadership within a multidisciplinary team that engages in crisis prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery
Supervise and evaluate the activities of the Assistant Principals for Student Supports, Nurses, and specific support personnel in the Department of Student & Family Services
Oversee supervision and evaluation of assistant principals, school counselors, social workers, and psychologists
Provide leadership, knowledge and expertise in designing and implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports with the building and District leadership teams
Provide supervision and leadership to staff in College and Careers Resource Center (Post-secondary Counselor)
Ensures consistent implementation of behavior policies, procedures, and protection of student rights
Provide vision and leadership to problem solving teams and leads building referral
Direct the orientation and matriculation of students who are entering and leaving high school
Implements the course selection process and development of programming for academic counseling, career advisement, and post-secondary planning
Coordinates the registration process, verification of residency and guardianship, and supports for students identified under McKinney-Vento
Oversee the implementation of entitlements under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation act
Supervise and act as custodian of student records
Lead and serve on building administrators leadership team to provide knowledge and expertise relative to school initiatives
Perform all other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Principal
