Our Senior Project Engineers serve as a project technical source, providing interpretation of plans and specifications, resolving questions and problems as they arise; maintain a comprehensive knowledge of client requirements, construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders; coordinate change orders; expedite materials; prepare project estimates; maintain project cost control; initiate close-out activities; and similar functions.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Research and initiate RFI, review, follow up, and distribute RFI responses as needed/required. Establish and maintain document filing and retrieval systems. Assist with scheduling using knowledge of scheduling applications. Review basic submittals and assist in review of all types of shop drawings. Establish and maintain project quality control program/system.

Ability to comfortably interact with the three primary customer levels of responsibility (executive, management/owner representative, and user). Act in role of key team lead for project administration (and recognized as such by the customer). Assemble/prepare monthly project progress report(s) and other customer related deliverables. Take the lead in close-out "duties/tasks" that are owner responsibilities.

Assume responsibility for assigned duties and tasks on project team. Set example in demonstrating thoroughness on work product/deliverables. Ability to manage and direct all disciplines of design.

Lead responsibility in developing and tracking PCO (Potential Change Order) events. Act as key support in the pay application process. Write scopes of work for most bid packages. Assist in preparing and issuing of bid package supplements. Participate and support negotiations in scope review meetings. Assist/prepare recommendation to award letters.

Has primary responsibility for development and coordination of all project logs. Ability to monitor CPM schedule and alert team of key factors that may impact time, cost, and quality. Demonstrate ability to understand job "hazards" and prepare work plans to identify and mitigate risk.

What we're looking for:

A degree in construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or industry related field.

2+ years commensurate experience.

Knowledge of documents which are included in contracts and how trades/crafts are contractually obligated to their requirements.

Working knowledge of construction trades and the work they perform.

Working knowledge of MEPFF&T (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, and Technology).

Strong working knowledge of scheduling techniques and the programs used to generate them.

Working knowledge of MS Office suite and other industry/company related programs.

Basic understanding of safety in a construction environment.

Understanding of the importance of project insurance(s).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
