Sr. Oracle Engineer

Database Engineer

Apex Systems is looking for a Database Engineer interested in helping us modernize the data and analytics platforms for a Midwest based healthcare provider. This individual must have a strong background in Oracle and desire to work in an organization transforming to a cloud-based, DevOps environment. Prior experience reverse engineering a large, complex database system is preferred. Any experience in automation is strongly desired.

Must Haves:

Experience as a DBA or engineer in support of Oracle database

Oracle 11gR2 skills

Basic monitoring and tuning

Backup and recovery of databases

Oracle security and general database security issues

Database design

Data warehouse design and architecture

Type I and type II changes

Dimensional modeling

PL/SQL developer skills

Oracle database gateways and implementation

Knowledge of advanced queuing would help

Unix Operating system

Korn shell scripting

General OS knowledge

General SAN and NAS technology understanding

Experience with client is desired
