Electrical Engineer Opportunity
Arcadis is shaping the future of resilient water systems—and we're proactively connecting with experienced Electrical Engineers who want their expertise to drive meaningful, long-term impact. As climate change, urbanization, and aging infrastructure place increasing demands on water and wastewater systems, our Water Business Line is building a forward-looking talent pipeline to support innovative, sustainable, and resilient solutions for communities across the United States.
This prospecting opportunity reflects our commitment to building a strong talent pipeline in support of future growth within our Resilience Water team. Although this role may not be immediately available, it represents our ongoing commitment to connecting with professionals who share our purpose and are excited by the challenges ahead.
As an Electrical Engineer supporting our Resilience Water team, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of electrical systems for water, wastewater, and industrial infrastructure projects. Your work will span the full project lifecycle—from concept development through construction and startup—supporting critical systems such as power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire detection, and control and monitoring systems. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, innovative, and sustainable solutions that enhance system reliability and community resilience.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborate with process, mechanical, and instrumentation and control (I&C) engineers to develop electrical design criteria, single-line diagrams, control schematics, and technical documentation.
Design low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems in alignment with project requirements, safety standards, and regulatory codes.
Perform power system studies and analyses using tools such as ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or similar software.
Support project managers with scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and cost estimating throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage assigned project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables to ensure quality and timely execution.
Participate in client meetings, site visits, and other project-related travel as needed.
Key Skills & Experience:
Successful candidates will bring a solid foundation in industrial electrical design and power distribution, including experience with motor control systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), lighting systems, and equipment layout. You will demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines. Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams. This role is ideal for engineers who are motivated by sustainability, resilience, and the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure that protects vital water resources and supports thriving communities.
