Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer III will design, develop, and support electronics for subsea motion control products, including underwater propulsion systems, electric actuators, electro-hydraulic systems, and power transmission equipment. This role works closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, sales, and customers, and also serves as a Project Engineer on custom projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for subsea equipment, including thruster motors, actuators, sensors, and propulsion systems.
Design and develop brushless motor drivers and supporting power electronics.
Develop electromechanical products including rotary/linear actuators, hydraulic pumps, and propulsion thrusters.
Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM creation, prototype development, and testing.
Design embedded hardware utilizing microcontrollers, PWM, ADCs, DACs, and serial communication interfaces.
Improve existing products for performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost reduction.
Support manufacturing during assembly, integration, and testing.
Supervise technicians during PCB assembly and product integration.
Create technical wiring diagrams and assembly documentation.
Lead design reviews and complete DFMEA/PFMEA documentation.
Serve as Project Engineer for custom engineering projects.
Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and project updates.
Provide remote customer technical support with occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
5–10 years of electrical engineering experience.
Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
