Responsibilities include: communicating design requirements with internal and external counterparties; evaluating mechanical manufacturing technologies and supporting new concept development; delivering design reports and creating detailed mechanical designs; preparing samples, arranging reliability testing, and conducting mechanical evaluations for products; providing relevant documentation for mechanical design; proactively resolving mechanical and project-related issues; and assisting in production line setup and troubleshooting to address mechanical issues during manufacturing.
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm
Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience as Development Engineer or similar role. Experience must include:
Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
· Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principal use in precision assembly.
· Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on connector designs
· Factory automation, CNC machining, plastic injection molding, sheet metal stamping, plating, reflow soldering and laser welding.
Telecommuting/Remote Work is Permitted
The position is a fixed location based in the San Jose office; however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed up to 100% of the time.
