About the Role
The Inside Sales Representative drives our customer growth from the inside. You'll qualify leads, go after new business in both existing and prospective accounts, and turn those opportunities into orders, all from the office. You'll own quoting, order entry, and the follow-through that keeps accounts moving.
This is a hunting role, not an order desk. You treat fast responses as a competitive edge and you follow through every time. Strong performers here can grow into an outside sales role down the road.
Location: On-site daily in Columbus, Ohio. This isn't a fit if you're looking for remote or hybrid-first.
What You'll Do
New Business Development
Qualify inbound leads and find new opportunities inside existing and prospective accounts.
Prospect and chase new business from the office.
Win back dormant accounts through targeted outreach.
Work with outside sales to advance and hand off field opportunities.
Quoting & Order Execution
Build and manage customer quotes, and respond to RFQs accurately and fast.
Enter and process orders while keeping the data clean in our CRM/ERP systems.
Follow up on open quotes and push them to close.
Track order status and keep customers in the loop through fulfillment.
Account Management
Be the primary inside contact for your accounts and handle the day-to-day communication.
Stay on top of accounts receivable follow-up for your accounts.
Grow accounts to drive repeat and expanded business.
Coordination & Support
Coordinate with operations and supply chain on availability, lead times, and delivery.
Back up outside sales with account coordination, documentation, and order handling.
Give customers accurate product, pricing, and availability information.
What We're Looking For
Required
2 to 5 years of B2B sales experience. Inside sales experience is a plus.
Prior experience in raw materials wholesale, distribution, or processing is strongly preferred.
Specialty metals sales experience is strongly preferred.
A real drive to qualify, pursue, and win new business, not just service what's already there.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
A high level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
Strong written and verbal communication.
The ability to learn on your own and make progress without someone looking over your shoulder.
Highly Valued
Direct experience selling stainless, nickel alloys, or copper and brass.
Comfort with CRM/ERP systems. NetSuite experience is a plus.
Familiarity with mill test reports, material specs (ASTM/AMS), and ISO quality systems.
An interest in growing into an outside sales role.
