Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will play a key role in the design, development, testing, and commercialization of advanced X-ray imaging systems and associated subsystems. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging multidisciplinary projects spanning mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities and Duties:
· Own mechanical design efforts throughout the full product development lifecycle, including concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, testing, verification, and manufacturing transfer.
· Design and develop precision mechanical assemblies, X-ray cabinet structures, shielding systems, and electromechanical subsystems.
· Create and maintain engineering drawings, assemblies, bills of materials, and product specifications using SolidWorks.
· Apply GD&T principles and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies to optimize product quality, manufacturability, and cost.
· Perform mechanical analyses, including structural, thermal, and tolerance evaluations, to support design decisions.
· Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges while balancing performance, reliability, cost, and regulatory requirements.
· Plan, build, and evaluate engineering prototypes.
· Support product verification and validation activities in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Service, and Supply Chain teams to support production and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product lifecycle management activities.
· Drive root cause investigations and corrective actions related to product and manufacturing issues.
· Work closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure component quality and successful product launches
· Partner with electrical, software, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing engineers to deliver integrated product solutions.
· Participate in technical design reviews and project planning activities.
· Help foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
Experience:
· 3+ years of mechanical product development experience.
· Proven experience designing and developing complex electromechanical products.
· Experience taking products from concept through production.
· Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
Technical Skills:
· Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
· Understanding of:
o GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
Sheet metal design and fabrication
Plastic injection molded components
CNC machined components
Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Design for Assembly (DFA)
· Knowledge of mechanical, thermal, and structural analyses.
· Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.

Preferred Qualifications
· Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
· Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industries.
· Experience with X-ray, imaging, or radiological systems.
· Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality systems.
· Knowledge of applicable standards such as IEC 60601 and IEC 61010.
· Experience with: DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP and Value Engineering
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed on site, in an office and light manufacturing environment.
Occasional travel required.
