Plumbing Apprentice
The Plumbing Apprentice supports the maintenance team by assisting with plumbing installations, repairs, and general maintenance under the supervision of a licensed plumber. This role is ideal for someone interested in learning the trade, gaining hands-on experience, and working toward becoming a licensed plumber.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures
Help diagnose plumbing problems and identify appropriate solutions
Carry tools, prepare materials, and clean job sites before and after work is completed
Measure, cut, and assemble pipes using hand tools or power tools
Learn to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing diagrams
Follow safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Support the licensed plumber with tasks as assigned
Participate in on-the-job and/or formal apprenticeship training programs
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Interest in plumbing as a trade and willingness to learn
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Comfortable working in confined spaces, outdoors, and in a variety of weather conditions
Valid driver's license preferred
Previous experience in a maintenance or construction setting is a plus, but not required
Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
