Area Manager – Industrial Insulation
Location: Columbus, Ohio and surrounding areas
A well-established industrial contractor is seeking an experienced Area Manager to help build and expand its Ohio market while overseeing operations, estimating, and project execution. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader with a strong background in industrial insulation and mechanical construction who is looking to make a significant impact within a growing organization.
Overview
This role will be heavily focused on Industrial Insulation projects for a diverse client base, including industrial, manufacturing, process, and higher education facilities.
The Area Manager will be responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring all safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives are achieved or exceeded. In addition to project oversight, this individual will play a key role in business development and market growth throughout Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the execution of industrial insulation and mechanical projects from award through completion.
Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, change orders, and cost controls.
Coordinate with field leadership, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
Oversee procurement of insulation materials, mechanical systems, and related equipment.
Ensure compliance with company safety programs, client requirements, and quality standards.
Drive project planning efforts, including manpower forecasting, sequencing, and logistics.
Build and maintain strong client relationships while representing the company in project meetings.
Support estimating, bidding, and preconstruction efforts.
Assist with strategic growth initiatives and expansion of the Ohio market.
Qualifications
5–10+ years of experience in industrial construction with a strong emphasis on industrial insulation and/or mechanical systems.
Proven experience managing industrial projects of varying sizes and complexity.
Background working in manufacturing, process plants, energy facilities, higher education, or other industrial environments.
Strong understanding of industrial insulation systems, mechanical equipment, and field operations.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and related project documentation.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Strong financial management, budgeting, and project controls experience.
Experience with estimating and business development is highly preferred.
