Cloud Architect
Provide the technical vision and direction within an application domain. Develop, maintain, and communicate the application architecture and application-level roadmap. Design, document, develop and govern frameworks/platforms for consumption by the larger technical delivery organization. Be accountable for the creation and evolution of the overall application architecture strategy, its alignment with the Huntington Target State Enterprise Architecture and its usage patterns within the development community. Communicate and govern use of architectural trends and best practices within the application domain in both their delivery organization and the Huntington Enterprise Architecture organization. Develop, maintain, and communicate standards around design leadership, documentation, and stakeholder communication in line with HNBs federated architect program. Conduct product/solution evaluations for architectural domain in both their delivery organization and the Huntington Enterprise Architecture organization. Mentor technical delivery staff.
The Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Cloud Architect is responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework and providing technical leadership in support of HNBs initiatives in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. The Cloud Architect reports into the Chief Development Office but would be embedded into the Cloud-IaC effort to provide architectural leadership and best practices. Additionally, the Cloud Architect will be responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery. Implementing your ideas, innovations, and prototypes to help transform the cultural and IT capabilities of a top regional financial institution. The position requires strong leadership and team building skills and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals.
Cloud Architecture and Design and Development
Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
Demonstrate knowledge of Infrastructure as Code software and templates: Terraform, CDM, CFT, ARM, etc.
Demonstrate knowledge of Security as Code principles, policy, best practices, and tools
Demonstrate knowledge of Credential, Certificate and Encryption best practices, rotation, and policies
Demonstrate knowledge of ADO pipelines
Demonstrate knowledge of source code management best principles and best practices
Demonstrate knowledge of DevSecOps tool chains and processes
Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for HNB cloud end-to-end architecture, networking, provisioning, and management
Define and apply cloud design patterns, based on the HNB application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
Back decisions with research and the why, and articulate several options, the pros, and cons for each, and provide recommendations
Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.
Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services
Contribute to DevSecOps development activities and complex development tasks
Research, propose, and design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
Evaluate existing application stacks and articulate cloud-based/native designs and/or migration strategy (e.g.
