Summary
The Catering Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily transportation and catering operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time service delivery. This role directs team members, enforces company and airline procedures, and supports operational performance in a fast-paced, time-sensitive airport environment. The Catering Transportation Supervisor promotes a strong safety culture, ensures compliance with all regulatory and company standards, and leads by example to maintain high levels of service and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily transportation and catering activities to support flight operations
Assign and delegate job duties to team members and ensure completion of all assigned tasks
Monitor operations within assigned flights to ensure safe and timely execution
Conduct pre-arrival and departure briefings to communicate safety and operational expectations
Ensure compliance with all company, airline, and regulatory standard operating procedures
Oversee aircraft loading to ensure adherence to operational requirements
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with uniform standards
Participate in and support Safety Management System (SMS) processes and reporting
Ensure safety incidents and reports are completed accurately and within required timelines
Maintain operational documentation including logs, reports, and compliance records
Coordinate catering, commissary, and equipment requirements for each flight
Monitor staffing levels and assist with scheduling to meet operational demands
Communicate operational updates and issues to leadership in a timely manner
Provide training support, guidance, and coaching to team members
Ensure all operations meet service level agreements (SLA) and compliance standards
Promote a safe and secure work environment for all employees
Perform any additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
18 years of age or older
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to obtain and maintain required airport and security clearances
Ability to obtain necessary airport vehicle operator permits
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within strict time constraints
Ability to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to complete required airline and company training programs
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
Professional demeanor with the ability to handle situations tactfully and diplomatically
Pass a background check and drug screen
