POSITION SUMMARY:

The Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) is a competent and compassionate professional whose scope of practice includes care of the patient in an inpatient and outpatient surgical setting. Perioperative nurses function as patient and patient-family advocates. Care is delivered in pre-operative, intra-operative, endoscopy, post-anesthesia care unit, phase II recovery and discharge phases. The RN performs assessments of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients by utilizing age-specific physical, social, and psychological criteria. From this assessment a plan of care is developed implemented, evaluated, and documented in EPIC by the perioperative nurse throughout each perioperative phase.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Graduation from accredited school of nursing (BSN desirable)

Valid nursing license in the state of Wisconsin

Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire

ACLS certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire

PALS certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire

Proficient with basic computer programs and electronic health documentation

At least one year experience in perioperative nursing or equivalent desirable

Shift : Monday-Friday, 6:30am-5pm.

FTE: PRN (as needed)
