Director Database Production and Product Assembly

The Database Production & Product Assembly team (DPPA) is responsible for the creation and ongoing support for all EIS database products. DPPA drives the data ingestion, aggregation and enhancement of content, and publishing of databases to EIS’ customers. We ingest a variety of structured and unstructured data for eBooks, journals, newspapers, databases, (you name it), etc., provided to us by our publishing partners. This content is used to create research databases used by a wide range of customers from academic libraries to schools, corporations, public libraries and healthcare facilities.

The team is looking for a Director who will embrace EIS’ strategy and customer needs, and work to develop our team, processes, and tools to achieve company goals and exceed customer expectations. The Director will drive the system roadmap for the DPPA tool portfolio, continuously seek out innovative ways to increase efficiencies (strong focus on automation) and improve customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

Protect EIS products and enhance customer experience by proactively measuring and managing the DPPA operation. Resolve difficult customer, technical, and process issues in a fast and professional manner. Proactively alerts Product Managers issues impacting EIS product health.

Closely collaborate with Product Management and Technology teams to build out processes and tools to support new products, markets, and to improve existing products.

Keep abreast of market and technology developments and provide thought leadership to continually identify process and architectural improvements. Advocate for and drive these strategies.

Provide coaching and leadership to team, promoting desired behaviors, resulting in improved results for EIS customers. Support employee development and career advancement.

Promote and empower Lean thinking, principles, and problem solving via training, rollout, and coaching.

Required:

10+ years of experience in information technology business

5+ years of strong leadership experience in large metric driven, technology heavy, customer centric organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Computer Science

Familiarity with lean methods, job automation, software development process, and tactical problem solving

Positive attitude, excellent team player with ability to work independently
