Software Engineer III (0019-0034)

Help reimagine Staples systems from the ground up and design the next generation Generative Al and AI/ML/NLP applications. Develop machine intelligence algorithms and solutions including high-level architecture designs, code/model development, evaluation, and operationalizing solutions at scale. Partner with a team Software, Data, ML, and Applied engineers for building high performing applications that interact with large scale distributed systems. Incubate ideas, prototype, develop, and productionize machine learning applications. Write software programs, test for quality and push model to cloud for production. Fetch big data related to Staples systems, analyze, detect patterns. and build models using data. Instill best practices related to software engineering and machine learning engineering problems. Shape next generation technology at Staples by defining the future roadmap for ongoing work.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience in software engineering. Experience must include:

Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

· Developing and maintaining Cl/CD pipelines for ML models, ensuring seamless integration and automation.

· Working with big data technology Spark to process and analyze large datasets for Al-driven insights.

· Troubleshooting and optimizing machine learning models for scalability, performance, and accuracy.

Six (6) months of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

· Optimizing data pipelines for training and inference and deploying machine learning and Generative Al models for applications to integrate Al-driven features

· Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to integrate Al-driven and generative Al-powered features into applications

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm

Position is fixed location based in Framingham office; however, telecommuting from a home office may be allowed 1 day per week.
