Superintendent

About the Opportunity

A well-established and respected general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on a variety of public, commercial, and light industrial construction projects throughout Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all day-to-day field operations from project startup through closeout.

Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with project management teams.

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and site logistics.

Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.

Conduct daily site inspections and proactively address quality control issues.

Lead project safety efforts and enforce company safety standards.

Facilitate subcontractor meetings, owner meetings, and progress updates.

Manage manpower planning and sequencing of work activities.

Track project progress and identify potential schedule impacts.

Review and coordinate drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field changes.

Maintain project documentation, reports, and daily logs.

Support project turnover, punch list completion, and closeout activities.

Qualifications

7+ years of superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor.

Experience managing public, commercial, and/or light industrial construction projects.

Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, and site coordination.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously.

Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Experience

Ground-up commercial construction projects.

Municipal, government, K-12, higher education, or other public-sector work.

Warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or light industrial facilities.

Significant concrete experience including foundations, slabs, site concrete, and structural concrete coordination.

Experience with self-perform concrete operations is a plus.
