Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) to join our growing team. This individual will lead electrical system design for building projects, mentor junior staff, and serve as a key technical resource within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design of electrical systems including:
Power distribution
Lighting and lighting controls
Fire alarm systems
Low voltage systems (data, telecom, security)
Prepare construction documents, specifications, and reports
Perform load calculations, short circuit, and coordination studies
Coordinate designs with internal MEP/FP teams and external stakeholders
Attend client meetings, site visits, and construction coordination meetings
Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
Mentor and oversee junior engineers and designers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited preferred)
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (MA & RI or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
5–15+ years of experience in MEP/FP consulting or building systems design
Strong knowledge of NEC, energy codes, and industry standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Experience with SKM, ETAP, or similar analysis software preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
Experience with K-12, higher education, or municipal projects
Familiarity with Massachusetts building codes and energy stretch codes
LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience
