Job Purpose

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE regulations. The role involves supervising construction teams, subcontractors, and day-to-day site operations with a primary focus on flowlines, mechanical works, and piping systems in the oil and gas sector.

HSE activities:

• Support and enforce project guidelines and HSE objectives.

• Attend HSE meetings and training when necessary.

• Participate in Job Safety Analysis, make suggestions, stop dangerous situations, and report

anomalies and dangerous acts

Key Job Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities related to flowlines, mechanical installations, material and piping systems.

Ensure work is carried out in strict compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable codes/standards.

Monitor daily work progress and report to the Construction Manager on project status, delays, and resource requirements.

Manage and supervise construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and quality workmanship.

Review and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, piping layouts, and mechanical installation drawings.

Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality control teams to resolve technical issues and ensure material availability.

Conduct quality inspections on welding, piping fabrication, pressure testing, and mechanical installations.

Ensure proper documentation and reporting of site activities, including daily reports, inspection records, and progress photos.

Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions to prevent project delays or safety incidents.

Participate in site walk-downs, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities as required.

Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction field. Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil industry and a deep understanding of regulations. Experienced Pipeline Construction Supervisor in onshore Greenfield and brownfield project with a very good knowledge of rules, procedures and International Codes and Standards. Team player with ability to work collaboratively across complex project teams and interface between interdisciplinary departments and within an international team.

Proficiency in pipeline systems and software.

Technical Skills

In-depth knowledge of piping systems, flowlines, and mechanical installations

Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, piping layouts, and structural drawings

Strong understanding of welding procedures, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), and piping codes (ASME, API, ANSI)

Familiarity with pressure testing, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning activities

Working knowledge of project management and construction planning tools (MS Project, Primavera – preferred)

Competence in quality control and inspection processes

Understanding of HSE management systems and risk assessment methodologies

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
