Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position at an academic medical center in Ohio, requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

22-bed PCU at an academic teaching hospital in Ohio

Adult and geriatric patient population

Common cases include burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries

Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy

12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Every other to every third weekend required

Floating within the health system is required

Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system in use

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required

Experience with similar patient populations (burns, reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT) preferred

Previous charge RN experience preferred

Teaching hospital experience preferred

2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

This is a 13-week travel contract

Local candidates are accepted

Former employees of this facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for at least 6 months

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or less for the contract duration

All candidates must complete Ohio state fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside of Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or may receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently
