Athletic Coordinator

The Athletic Coordinator helps to coordinate all of our athletics and enrichment programming for Grades K–12. The Athletic Coordinator supports, develops, and maintains our overall extracurricular and athletic program for Grades K–12. The Athletic Coordinator assists in managing all game and schedule logistics, assists in ensuring OHSAA compliance, assists in monitoring student eligibility and coaching licensure for each specific activity.

The Athletic Coordinator will also support campus-wide wellness and enrichment programming during and after school. This includes coordinating health and wellness programming, after school programs, summer camps and extension activities, and community partnerships. The ideal Athletics Coordinator will be a strong communicator, be able to develop relationships with coaches, students, families, and external partners quickly and in difficult situations, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Our campus has a variety of athletic and wellness facilities including:

KIPP Columbus Athletic and Wellness Complex is a state of the art facility on the KIPP Columbus campus. It can host a variety of sporting and community events.

Two regulation sized gymnasiums seating 250 and 600 respectively for basketball and volleyball.

An urban, outdoor cross country course featuring a mile loop and connection to the track.

An outdoor basketball court for recreation, intramurals, and physical education classes.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities Athletics Program Support Coordinates the athletic program in collaboration with coaches to ascertain programmatic needs on an annual basis, as well as prior to each season to ensure consistency of program. Supports all coaches. Schedules all athletic contests, issues contracts for the contest, and maintains the proper and necessary records for a specific school. Supervises athletic contests and acts as the host to officials and visiting schools. Oversees the supervision of contest employees and volunteers who work the athletic contest. Arranges for volunteers to supervise contests as needed. Supports and develops clubs, camps, clinics, and programming opportunities for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade to engage in healthy lifestyles and gain exposure to extracurricular activities. Health and Wellness Programming Coordinates and supports programming and experiences at the Athletics and Wellness complex. Promotes campus-wide programs and campaigns around healthy living, nutrition, and habits. Budget Management and Development Orders equipment as needed and maintains a current inventory of all athletic equipment. Serves as liaison to athletic booster groups and coordinates, with the coaches, the support group for specific athletic programs. Compliance Deeply understands all Board, OHSAA, league policies and federal laws. Advises and ensures all coaches and support staff conform with Board, OHSAA, league policies and regulations and with state and federal laws. Verifies all athletic eligibility lists for a specific school. Ensures all coaches have successfully completed required in-service programs. General Serves as a member of KIPP Columbus's staff, including accompanying students on field trips, and doing whatever it takes for our students and teachers to be successful Participates in staff meetings, professional development, as appropriate Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Extracurricular Activities or School Leader.

The following are required of all applicants: Bachelor's Degree Demonstrated ability to organize and implement programs Experience working with underserved communities, families and/or students Excellent organizational and communication skills Friendly and able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment Minimum of three years of teaching/coaching experience Prior administrative experience preferred Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite Experience working with Arbiter and ArbiterPay preferred

Compensation and Benefits KIPP Columbus offers a stipend for this position.
