Project Engineer Estimator

Non-automotive, growing manufacturer is seeking a Project Engineer Estimator. The Project Engineer Estimator will report to the Engineering Manager, will work within an energetic team of engineers and will communicate heavily with sales, design and production. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Create engineering concepts based on customer requests supplied by the sales team

Determine estimation for production and create customer quotes

Assist purchasing in qualifying vendors

Communicate with customers on changeovers and the status of projects

Determine final estimate, generate documentation and facilitate "kick off" of the project

Complete internal design review prior to production

Run reports within the company's ERP system

Utilize 3D modeling software for very basic layouts

Visit local customers as needed; very minimal overnight travel required

Other duties as directed by management

Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, collaborating with other engineers and working in fast-paced environments on multiple projects. This position requires candidates to be detail oriented, flexible, have the ability to prioritize and communicate at multiple levels of an organization. Requirements for the Project Engineer Estimator:

Minimum of a high school diploma; a Bachelor's degree is preferred

Ideally 2-4 years in a similar engineering role

Experience working for an OEM or with machined components or in an estimating position

Mechanical aptitude

3D modeling experience

Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:

Skilled trades background

Solid Edge experience

Technical writing
