Controller

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role will lead key financial processes such as month-end and year-end close, financial statement preparation, and the implementation of strong internal controls. In addition, the Controller will partner with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards, improve financial processes, and provide insights that support strategic decision-making.

Here's what you'll do:

Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities of our accounting team, ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations.

Communicate effectively with your accounting team and executive leadership, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Lead the accounting team with integrity and ensure adherence to the highest ethical standards.

Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support informed decision-making.

Collaborate with vendors and consultants to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Provide insightful financial data and analysis to empower strategic decision-making by the executive team.

Manage the budgeting process and ensure adherence to financial plans.

Continuously assess accounting operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement new processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of strong accounting and internal control systems.

Oversee the effectiveness of accounting technology and identify opportunities for improvement.

Develop, monitor, and communicate key business performance metrics to stakeholders.

Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Lead, motivate, train, and retain a team of talented accounting professionals.

To be successful, you'll need:

5+ years of experience as a Controller or similar leadership role.

A demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a high-performing accounting team.

In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Extensive experience in tax planning and implementing tax strategies.

A thorough understanding of tax and federal regulations.

Experience managing and overseeing all accounting functions.

A successful track record of accurately forecasting financial results and key metrics.

Proficiency in creating and filing financial statements.

Knowledge of accounting software systems.
