Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Automation Manager with the management and leadership of the Automation and Rigging Section within day-to-day operations at the Cotai Theatre and MGM Resorts, during show creation periods, special events, rentals, and all other normal operations
Ensure all Automation and Rigging Section operations are managed through positive interaction within an atmosphere that maximizes productivity and minimizes cost
Assist the Automation Manager with the management of the Automation and Rigging Section scheduling and operations during any resident show load-in, integration, technical rehearsal period, or performances. As directed, maintain all operational performance documentation as well as establish a comprehensive archival system
Assist the Automation Manager to establish a comprehensive program of system redundancy, contingency or emergency response in case of equipment failure during any show(s), performance, special event, or scheduled programming of the Cotai Theatre. This should be well documented and communicated to all relevant sections, departments, and staff
Assist the Automation Manager maintain artistic integrity and design intent for all relevant aspects of show(s) content
As directed, manage, schedule, and lead the Automation and Rigging Section during all other operational or programmed events both at the Cotai Theatre as well as MGM Macau resort wide.
As directed, assist the Automation Manager with the management for all aspects of Automation and Rigging Section fiscal budget to include, but not limited to, annual budget planning, purchasing and procurement, periodic reconciliations, purchase tracking, archival and record keeping, capital expense planning, and sectional consumable management
Maintain a strong culture of internal teamwork and well-being within the Automation and Rigging Section by establishing a strong communication framework between you and your team members, assist the Automation Manager to maintain healthy team building, and support staff member development when possible
Assist the Automation Manager to establish and maintain a program of cross training for Automation and Rigging staff members to increase productivity and operational diversity across all required operations
Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 + years’ experience in a primary supervisor and leadership role over Rigging in a large-scale theatrical operation.
Relevant Rigging experience should include both scenic element and performer flying system design, management, maintenance, and operation. Additional experience should include arena-oriented entertainment industry rigging and operations encompassing the use of chain motor flown rigs in a multipurpose format venue
Basic Automation experience would be desirable which could include both scenic element and performer flying system maintenance, and operation. Undergraduate University degree and related experience preferred

Must possess excellent English language skills, both written and verbal communication
Knowledge of Navigator recommended
Proficiency in Rigging systems and / or Automation systems and operations to include but not limited to, modern Automation or Rigging equipment and related software, operational safety, troubleshooting, maintenance, inspection, show operation, rope access qualifications, working at height, fall protection, and rescue procedures
Additional experience should include arena-oriented entertainment industry rigging and operations encompassing the use of chain motor flown rigs in a multipurpose format venue
