About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the human resources function at Arete Concrete. This is a hands-on role responsible for developing and managing HR strategies, policies and systems that support business growth and workforce capability.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead core HR functions across the employee lifecycle including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, employee relations and compliance.

This role suits someone confident working in a fast-paced construction environment who can balance strategic HR work with day-to-day operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and review HR strategies, policies and workforce plans aligned to business objectives

Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding and workforce planning across the organisation

Design and manage performance management systems to support individual and team performance improvement

Provide advice to managers on employee relations, conduct, and workplace matters

Manage industrial relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and awards

Oversee workplace health and safety programs and ensure compliance with statutory requirements

Support remuneration, conditions of employment and workforce cost monitoring

Manage training and development programs to build workforce capability

Monitor staffing levels, productivity and workforce trends

Oversee HR reporting, compliance and record-keeping requirements

About You

Solid experience in an HR Manager or HR Advisor role (construction or blue-collar environment advantageous)

Strong understanding of Australian employment law and HR best practice

Confident working with senior leaders and site-based teams

Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving and people management

Strong communication skills and ability to build trust across all levels of the business

Experience improving HR processes, engagement and performance outcomes
